The Roaring Twenties

1920's Flapper
This was the year that fashion emerged into the modern era, a more boyish look became popular, flatter straight up and down figures. Women broke into wearing pants and shorter skirts/dresses and quit wearing constricting clothing they started to wear more casual comfortable clothing. The chemise/camisole had replaced the constricting corset.

The key styles of 1920's had pleats, slits, gathers, sequins and fringing to allow that shimmy shimmy motion. Women also wore , low-waisted dresses with fullness at the hemline which allowed them to dance.
The daytime look consisted of a wool jersey sports suit (sweater and skirt) or a straight cut camisole and a cloche hat.
Remember when putting your outfit together that you can't just put the clothes on, you always have to get the hair, make-up and accessories right to complete the look otherwise the look will look effortless. So have fun and add a modern twist to your vintage outfit but most importantly be creative!
